goodbye, dear old computer--
You stayed with me for more than 4 years, and through these years we've seen lots of fun and lots of work. Be it surfing, watching all my shows or chatting on MSN, rushing through lab reports, printing notes or replying emails, you were the electronic wonder that did it all. Of course your fan was a little noisy and you weren't exactly low maintenance (I bought you a new LCD companion and upgraded your RAM and also bought you a new graphics card because you burnt through yours), but our relationship simply blossomed.

Alas, all good must come to an end, and on Monday, without any warning whatsoever, you suddenly decided that it was time to leave me. I turned you on and 5 minutes later your image started blinking. I moved the mouse around but it refused to chase after anything on the screen. And there you went. Kaput. Gone. I rebooted and prayed for a miracle, because I refused to believe you'd be taken away so abruptly from me. You sputtered into life briefly for me to save some files and then passed away.

It was difficult when you were gone. I had to bring your little brother, the lappie, to Macdonald's to check my mail, because it was so troublesome to install the modem and whatever on it. How could you have left like that? Thankfully something else came into my life. In a new black chassis and a nice power button that glowed blue. So rest in peace my old PC, for you will be missed. Meanwhile, I'll just have to start building a relationship with the new one.
